Whole Foods Market® Helps Shoppers "Be Good to Your Whole Mommy"

Tips for an All-Natural Spa at Home and Gift Ideas for Mother's Day

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - April 23, 2008) - As part of its "Be Good to Your Whole Body" campaign in its Whole Body departments, Whole Foods Market, the world's leading natural and organic foods supermarket, will focus on the components for creating a spa at home during the month of May. In-store lectures and podcasts will offer suggestions for designing a home spa toolkit with natural ingredients, minerals and vitamins for renewal and relaxation.

"A soak in the bathtub can help reduce stress and be a much needed mini-retreat," says Jody Villecco, quality standards coordinator for Whole Foods Market. "With a little planning and the right elements, creating a sanctuary right in your own home could be even more relaxing and invigorating than a trip to the spa -- and much less expensive."

For shoppers wanting to treat mom to all-natural goodies this Mother's Day, May 11, Whole Foods Market stores will carry an exclusive "Lavender Essentials Home Spa System" by EO Products (estimated SRP $19.99*) during the month of May. The kit includes massage oil, bath salt, shower gel, hydro exfoliating gloves and a soy massage candle.

In-store lectures by Whole Body experts will offer shoppers tips for creating an at-home spa to nourish all the senses, including:

-- Sight - Lighting a few candles can quickly transform a room and a mood
-- Sound - Popping a favorite relaxing, invigorating or soothing CD into
    the player
-- Smell - Adding bath salts or a few drops of essential oils to the tub
for fragrance; candles and diffusers also can provide aromatherapy
-- Taste - Serving tea, water with slices of cucumbers and lemon or hot
    cocoa are comforting options
-- Touch - Drawing water at the perfect temperature, bubble bath and body
scrubs can soothe and replenish the skin

Several resources are available online, including an aromatherapy expert podcast and video with ideas for creating all natural facials at home. Check local store listings for events and more information.
