WildTangent Launches 'Enthusiast' Game Channel

Re-Launch of Company's Web Site Reflects Explosive Growth in Online Games Among Young Males

REDMOND, WA--(Marketwire - September 26, 2007) - WildTangent, Inc., the world's fastest growing online games property, today launched a next-generation update to the Web site featuring, powerful game search and discovery features, dozens of new games and a new content channel featuring games for the fast growing "enthusiast" segment of the online game market. Popular titles in the new Enthusiast Channel include Fate, Hyperball Racing and Blackhawk Striker 2, as well as the wildly popular massively multi-player online game (MMOG) AdventureQuest.

While casual games, which are usually puzzle or word games targeted at family audiences, have grown at a steady rate for several years, WildTangent has developed a growing audience of 'enthusiast' gamers, young males who demand more advanced, console-quality games similar to what they typically play on the XBOX or the Nintendo Wii.

"The greatest growth segment in online games is not with casual puzzle and word games made for mom," said Alex St. John, chief executive officer of WildTangent. "The real action is with the young male enthusiast gamer, the same group our studio has been building games for since 1998. The improvements we've made to our Web site and the addition of new enthusiast games to our catalog are the first in a long line of enhanced offerings planned for enthusiast gamers looking for a console-quality gaming experience on their PC."

WildTangent has long been a leading developer and publisher of enthusiast-focused, console-quality online titles such as Polar Bowler, Polar Golf, Blackhawk Striker and the award-winning role-playing game Fate.

"All hard core or enthusiast gamers start out playing casual games. There's a very active group of gamers, mostly young males, who have outgrown online puzzle or word games," said Michael Pachter, video games analyst for Wedbush Morgan Securities. "WildTangent offers enthusiast gamers a place online to find the same kind of high-quality titles they find on their traditional video game consoles. WildTangent also provides a one-stop solution to allow enthusiast gamers to migrate from casual games to more advanced titles. This audience also happens to be the same group that advertisers are really hungry to reach."

The growth of enthusiast gamers is great news for PC manufacturers whose hardware superiority over traditional game consoles positions them well to continue attracting gamers to the PC platform.
