The Wine School -- Best of Philly 2008 -- Announces Its Fall Foundation and Intermediate Courses

The Wine School -- Best of Philly 2008 -- Offering an Exemplary Wine Education

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - August 4, 2008) - Starting this Fall, students can embark on a thorough wine education by enrolling in The Wine School's Academic Wine Programs.

New students to the school begin with the Foundation Program. This is an eight-week course specifically designed by The Wine School of Philadelphia to emphasize sensory evaluation, learn the thumbprints of all major varietals, and debunk the many myths surrounding wine. Students are transformed into superior wine tasters, often out-scoring sommeliers and wine professionals in the final blind tasting exam.

The Intermediate Wine Program is an intensive exploration of the world of wine. The student is immersed into the viticulture, economy, geology and history of every major wine region. Along with the Foundation program, the Intermediate Wine Program is a complete education in wine studies. The program can either be taken after the Foundation Program or simultaneously. Taking both programs together has shown to be the most effective means to attain a complete wine education.

Coming in the Fall semester, students who successfully complete both the Foundation and Intermediate programs in the same semester will be given a free one-year membership into the school's exclusive Cru Club and a $200 gift certificate for future classes. "We have found our students do amazingly well when they take the programs jointly," says school founder Keith Wallace, "and what better way of encouraging students than to reward them with a gift valued at nearly $500?"

With its respectable cache of instructors and its arresting approach to wine, The Wine School stands at the forefront of what has become a steadily growing field of study. The Foundation and Intermediate Programs were designed to provide a solid bedrock for anyone wanting to attain a higher knowledge and appreciation of wine -- be they experienced or new to the world of wine.
