Winners Announced in National Bridal Search

Seven brides dish for Weddingbells

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 15, 2009) - A match made in heaven...Weddingbells is thrilled to unveil the seven winners of its national Bridal Blogger Search as part of the magazine's 25th anniversary celebrations. Until their respective wedding dates, each of the seven winners will chronicle their experiences of planning their very different nuptials - from an elaborate affair, to a circus-themed wedding fit for the Big Top, and everything in between! Don't miss a minute of their planning, as the drama unfolds at www.weddingbells.ca/bloggersearch.

- Originally from England, but now calls Winnipeg home, Emily Wood is planning a traditional wedding with a winter wonderland theme.

- Heather Kentner, a Toronto acrobatic who creates circus acts with her future husband, is planning to portray her love story as a performance during the wedding and wants a vegan menu too.

- While this bride admits to being a Vancouver girl through and through, Lara Varona's planning her destination wedding in Negril, Jamaica and then a reception at home a month later.

- London's Mai Trac envisions an intimate affair of 30 or fewer to tie the knot to her fiance, who she's already built a beautiful family with, including two boys they want to include on their special day.

- Held at the Windsor Ballrooms in Montreal, Jessyca Mullan's luxury wedding is going to have a club-like atmosphere, a candy buffet...and a huge ball gown too.

- Carrie Ye from Edmonton believes an environmentally conscious wedding can be pretty too and is planning an eco-vintage wedding with details like vintage attire for the wedding party, wild or local flowers, local food and party favours that sponsor children.

- Married for the first time to her high-school sweetheart almost 10 years ago in her parents living room while pregnant, Judith Manzano is excited to start planning her Winnipeg dream wedding in the fall-especially the dress shopping.

The national quest kicked off in July 2009 with an open call for submissions, which netted hundreds of entries. Once shortlisted by the scrupulous editorial team at Weddingbells, the finalists were turned over to the voting public to determine which seven would blog for Weddingbells, leading up to when they say "I do".

Alison McGill, Editor-in-Chief, Weddingbells, says readers are in for a treat. "Brides love to take inspiration from other weddings. Not only did our readers help choose these seven lucky bloggers, but they'll get a candid look at the everyday ups and downs of planning a wedding. And while these seven Canadian weddings couldn't be more unique, they will all be gorgeous."

The seven finalists begin blogging as of January 4, 2010 at www.weddingbells.ca/bloggersearch. One grand prize winner will have their wedding featured in the pages of Weddingbells magazine and win a trip for two to the El Dorado Casita Royale in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, courtesy of Signature Vacations.
