Winston Baker Announces International Film Finance Forum Agenda and Speakers

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - April 20, 2010) -  Finance conference producer, Winston|Baker, today announced the agenda and speakers for the International Film Finance Forum to be presented in association with Variety on May 13, 2010 during the 63rd Annual Festival de Cannes.

"It is more important than ever to bring together film and finance executives from around the world to share their insight on where the industry is and where it's headed," said Katherine Winston, Managing Partner, Winston|Baker. "Additionally, it will be essential to address viable film financing and distribution strategies given the current market conditions."

Speakers will include Robbert Aarts, Fintage House; Adrian Alperovich, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group; Ashok Amritraj, Hyde Park Entertainment Group; Edward Arentz, Music Box Films; Bob Berney, Apparition; Claudia Blümhuber, Silver Reel Partners; Jeanette Buerling, Magnet Media Group; Gary Concoff, TroyGould; Richard Guardian, Lightning Entertainment; Anthony Gudas, Tax Credit Finance; Jill Gwen, Fox Searchlight Pictures; Mark Hutchison, Rothstein Kass; Clint Kisker, Screen Capital International; Fred Milstein, Aon/AGR; Tim O'Hair, Paradigm; Hal Sadoff, ICM; Ted Shapiro, Motion Picture Association; Marshall Sonenshine, Sonenshine Partners; and Jared Underwood, Comerica.

The faculty will address international sources for raising capital; distribution trends in Europe, the U.S., and globally; plus the importance of minimizing risk to increase revenues. "Effective risk management and mitigation methods are used in the international motion picture industry, much more extensively than in other industries. From the investor or lenders standpoint, these are significant and must be focused upon. It is equally important to analyze, discuss and propose solutions as to coping with challenges and enhancing upside in both the international and domestic distribution of films in light of the decline in the number of pictures being produced," said Gary Concoff, Chairman, Entertainment and Media, TroyGould, and a sponsoring co-chair of the forum.

Ted Shapiro, Deputy Managing Director, EMEA, Motion Picture Association, is a sponsoring co-chair as well. And supporting sponsors include Rothstein Kass, Aon/AGR, Sonenshine Partners, and Magnet Media Group. For program and registration details:
