Wireless Matrix Records Sales of Over 7,000 Hardware Units in Fiscal Year, Increases Subscribers

RESTON, VIRGINIA--(CCNMatthews - May 18, 2006) - Wireless Matrix Corporation (TSX:WRX) today announced it shipped approximately 7,100 units in fiscal year 2006, a 38% increase in shipments over the previous fiscal year, and an almost ten-fold increase over the 747 shipped in fiscal year 2004.

This increase in shipments drove a 13% growth from the prior year in the Company's subscriber base to over 30,700 as of April 30, 2006. The continued growth of the Company's subscriber base, adding over 3,500 net subscribers, is a key illustration of Wireless Matrix's positive direction.

Wireless Matrix also had an additional 1,200 units in backlog to be shipped in the first and second quarter of 2007. The increase of almost 2,000 units in the Company's units shipped over the prior year was comprised of sales to both new and existing customers of its Mobile Base Station 2 multi-mode modems, and the Company's fixed-site units, including the SDT 5000 and its predecessor, the SDX 1100.

In addition, during the fourth quarter of 2006, Wireless Matrix began deployment of its Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) software application for one customer and received an initial order from a second customer. These two customers, as well as clients currently piloting units, represent the potential for over 4,300 net new subscriptions in fiscal 2007.

"Fiscal year 2006 represents the best year for growth in sales and subscribers in recent history and demonstrates that customers are increasingly embracing our unique wireless solutions for their mission-critical data needs," said J. Richard Carlson, Wireless Matrix CEO and President. "These improvements, when combined with a robust sales pipeline and a bevy of planned new product and service launches, pave the way for an exciting fiscal year 2007."
