Women in Leadership Foundation's Greenworks Conference: Igniting Our Generation Towards a Sustainable Future

Be a part of the Green revolution

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 3, 2009) - The Women In Leadership Foundation (WIL) will be hosting its Green Works 2009 Conference on Monday, November 16, 2009, from 8am – 3:45pm, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Rue 101 Lyon Street.

The conference is designed to attract, recognize, recruit and retain women in environmental occupations. By connecting stakeholders, this event will prepare attendees to play a key role in the emerging global green economy. This Green Works project will assist industry in attracting skilled female workers and bringing together key stakeholders to collaboratively build a national strategy.

"Canada is facing a severe shortage of workers in the environmental sector. There are over 500,000 environmental workers employed in Canada and the sector is projecting strong demand for highly skilled occupations. The supply for these workers will have to come from immigration, women (which lag behind national averages) and more training of young people."

- Maya Kanigan, President and Founder, Women in Leadership Foundation
