WorkProducts Announces Publication of Latest ELM Monthly Case Law Journal

Highlights How Evidence Lifecycle Management Automation for eDiscovery Creates Stronger Information Governance in Accordance With Federal Rules Amendments

CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwire - December 14, 2009) - WorkProducts, the revolutionary provider of the first end-to-end Microsoft SharePoint: FAST ESP simplified eDiscovery software product - MatterSpace® ELM, announced today that it has published the latest issue of its widely-read, monthly case law journal for corporate in-house counsel, outside counsel, information technology and security professionals, records managers, and litigation support professionals. The November issue is now available for download at no charge from the Company website,

In this edition of the Journal, recent cases and procedures are cited that show support for eDiscovery investigations that utilize technology in lieu of laborious, time-consuming and error-prone manual processes. Central to such new technology approaches are underlying, formalized procedures that are consistently applied and executed across all phases of the digital discovery process in order to satisfy new federal mandates. In one case that was cited, the court advised in-house counsel to work closely with the corporate IT department to develop a procedure for identifying relevant sources of computer data and for outlining specific steps for preserving, collecting and searching that data. In another case illustration, the court affirmed that the eDiscovery investigation performed by the internal, IT security personnel was satisfactory and thorough as it utilized a defensible process using best practice technology.

"The implication of using technology as evidenced by these cases, explained in greater detail in this edition of the ELM Journal, is significant to lowering costs while increasing compliance of eDiscovery examinations," said Steve Lilley, founder and CEO, WorkProducts. "The central requirement sought by the court is the development of a systemized and consistent internal process that leverages an organization's IT infrastructure for identifying, preserving and collecting digital evidence."

The Journal highlights how the WorkProducts MatterSpace® ELM software product, combined with the Company's Evidence Lifecycle Management (ELM) process, provides an authenticated technology approach to simplifying eDiscovery while conforming to the federal rules. MatterSpace integrates with an organization's current IT systems for email, document storage, document management, legal matter management and eDiscovery, making it highly defensible in court.
