World Vision Reports No Delays in Their Call Centre and Website for Canadians Wishing to Contribute to Relief Efforts in Haiti

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 15, 2010) -

Attn: Assignment Editors/Foreign Editors

World Vision reports that as of 9:00 a.m. Friday morning, $2.3 million has already been raised from the support of generous Canadians. Despite a heavy volume of website traffic and calls to World Vision's call centre, there have been no reports of crashes or call delays since the emergency response began for Haiti on Tuesday, January 13.

"The response to this tragedy has been overwhelming," says Caroline Riseboro, Director of Specialized Marketing for World Vision. "In the past 24 hours we have received nearly 3,500 calls and 97,000 visitors to our website. So far we have been able to fully accommodate the large volume of calls and inquiries from concerned and compassionate Canadians."

Riseboro is also greatly encouraged by last night's announcement from Master Card Canada that they are waiving credit card fees for Haiti donations for World Vision and other selected aid agencies and hopes other companies will follow suit.

World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. World Vision serves all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.
