Yaris and Urban Outfitters Close Free Yr Radio 2007 by Partnering With Seattle's KEXP to Bring Exclusive Live 2007 CMJ Performances to Non-Commercial Stations Across the USA

Free Yr Radio Album Available at Urban Outfitters Week of October 20th

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 15, 2007) - Free Yr Radio, the inaugural year-long initiative in support of independent radio, continues its commitment to independent music and media during the 2007 CMJ Music & Film Festival held in Manhattan from October 16th through 20th. This year, the music will play beyond the city's borders as the campaign teams with Seattle's KEXP (90.3 FM and KEXP.ORG) to bring exclusive live in-studio performances and interviews by select indie bands to non-commercial Free Yr Radio stations across the country. During the week, KEXP will host a series of live world-class performances at the Gibson Showroom in New York (421 West 54th Street between 9th & 10th Avenues) recording and sharing content from the broadcasts free of charge for Free Yr Radio partner stations. The venture is the latest and final element of the 2007 Free Yr Radio campaign created by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS) and Urban Outfitters (URBN) to benefit non-commercial radio.

This partnership maximizes our resources and continues to create new programming to enhance and support non-commercial radio."

The 2007 Free Yr Radio campaign, launched at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, TX, is a multi-phased initiative which featured a series of free in-store performances by top indie bands at Urban Outfitters stores. The 2007 thirteen-city event drew thousands of attendees nationwide, and highlighted popular bands including Klaxons, Sonic Youth, Man Man, The Rapture and Dinosaur Jr. among others. The campaign also provided brand new Toyota Yaris vehicles to partner stations to use as a fundraising tool. In addition, a benefit compilation CD featuring rare tracks from the bands will be released during CMJ week on October 20th, and will be available nationwide at Urban Outfitters stores. All profits from the CD will be split among partner non-commercial stations.

Additionally, to celebrate the Free Yr Radio CD release, all Urban Outfitters stores in Manhattan will offer a tribute to the campaign by creating window displays honoring participating artists and non-commercial radio during CMJ Week from Oct. 16 to 20. All CMJ attendees will receive a discount on any purchase made at Urban Outfitters during the week simply by presenting their CMJ badges.
