Yellow Pages Group Partners With the City of Calgary to Recycle Yellow Pages Directories

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 26, 2007) - Yellow Pages Group (YPG) and the City of Calgary have joined efforts to encourage Calgary residents and businesses to contribute to the protection of the environment in keeping their city clean by recycling outdated Yellow Pages™ phone books.

As the new Calgary Yellow Pages™ directory - the one with the Walking Fingers logo - hits the street starting on September 24 and throughout the month of October, it is important to remind Calgarians to recycle the directories when they receive the new edition. All YPG directories are fully recyclable and are accepted at local recycling depots.

In addition, YPG offers businesses that receive more than 150 directories a recycling service for last year's phone books, free of charge. These initiatives reflect YPG's ongoing commitment to reduction, re-use and recycling.

"We recognize our activities have an impact on the environment and we are constantly looking for ways to minimize that impact," said Annie Marsolais, Director of Corporate Communications, Yellow Pages Group. "In order to do so, we need people from Calgary to help us recycle the outdated directories. "We truly appreciate the City of Calgary's support in making this a reality."

"We are pleased Yellow Pages Group has taken extra steps to support the City of Calgary in its recycling initiatives," said Dave Griffiths, Waste and Recycling Services Director, The City of Calgary. "This partnership is a great example of corporate commitment to responsible management of recyclable products," he added.

This Yellow Pages directory recycling initiative is made possible by YPG's contribution to the City of Calgary. YPG continues to work with municipal and provincial bodies, the public and community organizations to achieve its recycling goals.
