Zacuto C300 Rigs Ready to Ship

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Jan 30, 2012) - The new Canon C300 is one of the most talked about cameras on the market today. Since its announcement in November, Zacuto has developed several kits for the C300 and they are ready to begin shipping in time for the camera's release.

"When we were thinking up the designs for these new C300 baseplates, one thing everyone agreed on is that we need a lot of rod ports for all of the accessories and support gear to attach to the baseplate," says Zacuto Product Designer, Patrick Fee. "The rod ports on the side offer a lot of possibilities on where users can mount things. One of my favorite features on the Studio Plate is the ability to mount a Zwiss Plate with an Anton Bauer or V-Mount battery plate off to the side instead of out the back. It makes for an extremely well balanced tripod rig."

While Zacuto normally develops universal camera accessories, the C300's unique shape called for Zacuto to design two completely new baseplates, both Studio and Gorilla style. The C300 Studio baseplate plate offers 6 rod ports for mounting various accessories and was designed so that the rods sit below the camera to accommodate all matte boxes. Having the rods run through the Studio Plate allows for quick and easy rod adjustment when using different lenses with a matte box and follow focus. The C300 Gorilla baseplate has 4 rod ports.

The Recoil, Zacuto's premium system for the C300, is a completely original way of looking at rigs. The camera sits balanced entirely on your shoulder and can quickly move from your shoulder to a tripod and vice-versa. The Recoil is perfect for run and gun style or all day shooting. It's stripped down to the basic necessities and versatile.
