Zeligsoft Accelerates Iterations in Software Defined Radio Development Life Cycle: Component Enabler 2.4 Amplifies the Benefit of Component-Based Embedded Software Development

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 31, 2006) - Zeligsoft™, a leading vendor of market-specific embedded software development tools today announced the release of Zeligsoft CE™(Component Enabler) 2.4 supporting deployment analysis at the component level. This valuable feature allows large defense contractors developing software for the Joint Tactial Radio System (JTRS) standard to quickly assess the feasibility of deploying a software application such as a waveform to a target radio platform.

In keeping with its mission to enable customers to reduce the risks that affect quality and time-to-market of their embedded software systems, Zeligsoft is giving system architects and software developers alike the capability of querying software component deployment options, to support the determination of the optimal application deployment.

Detailed deployment reports can also be generated, enabling engineers to understand the full set of possible component-device matches, as well as components which cannot be deployed, given the application and target platform under consideration. This feature has tremendous benefit for large integrators, such as the JTRS Cluster primes and sub-primes who must ensure that all waveforms deploy optimally to all supported platforms within their project.

"Deployment analysis at the component level is needed by engineers developing component-based embedded systems such as those conforming to the JTRS' Software Communications Architecture (SCA) standard," said John Hogg, Chief Technology Officer, Zeligsoft. "Successful development projects are iterative in nature, and CE contributes significantly to the iterative process by allowing users to explore what is possible at a component-level, and iteratively build an optimal deployment. This new capability in CE 2.4 accelerates iterations and speeds-up the development life cycle by giving developers a means to manage multiple deployments through development and test, providing efficiency and cost-saving benefits."

This new capability complements the existing modeling, validation, and run-time analysis capabilities included with CE, solidifying Zeligsoft's position as the only provider of industry-specific software tooling solutions with advanced features for deployment analysis.

Other new features introduced in Component Enabler 2.4 include multiple application views and enhanced validation with standards cross-reference. The multiple application views feature supports large scale development by enabling teams to scale and filter their radio system model so that each individual or group is presented with tailored views of the model relevant to their design/engineering task. This keeps team members focused, while still allowing everyone to benefit from a common model. The enhanced validation with standards cross-reference feature links SCA validation to SCA specifications. CE 2.4 informs users of the exact SCA rule being checked, and, if required, presents the user with the exact SCA rule being infringed upon. This enhancement complements what is already the industy's most complete SCA validation tool.

"CE release 2.4 marks two years of delivering significant functionality enhancements, plus many customer-requested features," said Kamal Krishnapillai, VP Sales and Marketing, Zeligsoft. "Recent customer feedback confirms that CE is the only industrial-strength tool serving the needs of the Software Defined Radio development community."

Pricing and Availability

CE 2.4 will be available June 22, 2006. Customers with current maintenance contracts will receive this release at no additional cost.
