Zoom Expands Line of Bluetooth® Wireless Audio Products for iPods, Mobile Phones, PCs, TVs, and Other Sound-Generating Devices

New Headphones and iPod®/iPhone® Transceiver Join Coordinated Line of Bluetooth Audio Products

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - January 7, 2008) - Zoom Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZOOM) announced today it has begun shipping important new additions to Zoom's iHiFi™ line of Bluetooth audio products. These new products include a Bluetooth transceiver that plugs into the dock connector of an iPod or iPhone, a Bluetooth wireless headphones/headset, and products that combine a Bluetooth transmitter with the headphones/headset. The Zoom line of Bluetooth products enables wireless communication between cell phones, home audio systems, headphones, computers, TVs, and a wide range of other devices that generate or play music and other sounds.

The Model 4355 Bluetooth transceiver plugs into the dock connector of an iPod or iPhone. The transceiver can send the iPod's music or other audio out via a Class 2 Bluetooth wireless connection to Zoom's new Model 4380 headphones/headset, Zoom's model 4360 stereo receiver, and other Bluetooth-enabled stereo playback devices. Unlike competing Bluetooth transmitters, the model 4355 provides volume control from the iPod or iPhone. Plugged into an iPod, the miniature transceiver becomes a natural extension of the iPod. The estimated retail price of the Model 4355 is $39.

The Model 4380 headphones/headset can be used as Bluetooth wireless stereo headphones for an iPod or iPhone equipped with the Model 4355 transceiver. Model 4380 can also be used as a headset with built-in microphone for Bluetooth mobile phones and other devices that work with Bluetooth headsets. Controls on the headphones/headset allow users to switch from audio playback to telephone calls and then back to audio while the phone and iPod remain safely in a pocket, purse or briefcase. The estimated retail price of the Model 4380 is $59.

Model 4380 wireless headphones also work with any stereo, radio, TV, or other audio device equipped with a Zoom Model 4353 Universal Wireless transmitter, which plugs into any audio source with a standard 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) headphones jack. The estimated retail price of the Model 4353 Universal transmitter is $59.

Zoom also introduced money-saving packages that combine two Zoom Bluetooth products. Those combination packages include:

-- Model 4383 combines a Model 4353 Bluetooth audio transmitter and a
Model 4380 headphones/headset, and has an estimated retail price of $99.
-- Model 4385 combines a Model 4355 Bluetooth audio transceiver for the
iPod and iPhone and the Model 4380 headphones/headset, and has an estimated
    retail of $89.
-- Model 4386 combines a Model 4311 class 1 Bluetooth adapter for USB
ports with the Model 4380 headphones/headset, and has an estimated retail
of $89. This combination allows Skype users to have a wireless headset for
Skype calls that can also be used for enjoying stereo music from their PC.
If a call comes in when someone is listening to music, Model 4386
automatically silences the music so the incoming ring is heard. When the
call is over, a simple button push turns the music back on.

Zoom's iHiFi products are sold in a coordinated line of packages suitable for merchandising in a hang-pack display.
