A Community gathers to celebrate the life of

Singer Megan McNeil, 20, who championed childhood cancer causes

Media are invited to attend a celebration of life for Megan McNeil on February 19 at the Bell Centre for Performing Arts in Surrey. McNeil was the 20 year old singer who died two weeks ago from childhood cancer, but not before leaving behind a legacy of hope and compassion for other kids battling cancer through her beautiful song called The Will to Survive.

A Celebration of Life for Megan McNeil, a singer and tireless advocate for childhood cancer awareness who died January 28 at the age of 20.

- Doors open at 1pm; Celebration starts at 1:30pm and runs until approximately 3pm.

- Hosted by co-hosts of the Global BC morning news, Sophie Lui and Steve Darling.
- Featuring reflections from close friends and family, including Megan's parents, Dave and Suzanne.
- Honouring Megan McNeil, the singer songwriter of The Will to Survive, which has become an anthem for the
childhood cancer fight.

As Megan's time on earth drew to a close, she made some requests of us all. She wanted her work to continue, and for us all to fight for a day when no child died from childhood cancer. As a gesture of remembrance, her parents ask that you:

2. share The Will to Survive video ( with as many as you can to help get her message out.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The James Fund ( and/or BCCCPA ( by going directly to their sites.
