A Day for M.E. Lineup Brings Top Nutritional Experts to Southern California

Moms Get Ready to Take a Day for Themselves, and a Stand for Their Families

ALISO VIEJO, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 15, 2012) - Moms in Charge, an organization of moms who strive to raise healthier kids, today announced the lineup for its A Day for M.E. (mom empowerment) event, which will feature keynote speaker Joe Cross, creator of the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. The event, being held August 25 at the Costa Mesa Hilton, will provide women across Southern California with not just a day away, but with life-long tools to boost health and wellness for themselves and their families.

"After several years of eating the worst possible foods and bringing myself to near death, I decided it was time to stop and do something about my health," said Joe Cross, filmmaker and producer of Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. "Children learn life patterns from home, and Moms in Charge is equipping women to take control of their health and their homes. I am happy to be the keynote speaker at A Day for M.E., and look forward to watching Moms in Charge impact their community, and the world."

As August comes to an end and moms face the reality of the business of life with schools, lunches, sports, activities and hectic schedules, A Day for M.E. is a place where moms can empower themselves to make changes that matter in their family's health. To that end, local raw and vegan/organic chefs Jenny Ross of 118 Degrees and Julia Corbett of Diviana Alchemy will be conducting food demos that will help moms implement these principles into their daily lives. Catering will be available for purchase from 118 Degrees, as well as fresh juices from Organic Tree.

A Day for M.E. includes an impressive lineup of professionals to help women take a day off to be educated, rested and refreshed. Speakers include Dr. Christy Westen of Simply Vibrant, a leader in treating the body holistically for total wellness; Renata Wood of OC Body Talk, focusing on women's health and confidence; and musician Mark Romero.

Attendees will have a chance to win a Spa Day at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, an iPad and much more. A Day for M.E. will run from 9 am to 6 pm, with an evening event from 7 pm to 9 pm. Registration can be accessed by visiting: www.adayformeconference.com. Sponsors for A Day for me include: Tuttle Click Automotive Group and Creative Solutions for Hope.
