A Donkey Kong 'World Champ' Attempts to Best His Record at GDC 2010

Atlassian Launches Microsite to Showcase the 150+ Game Developers That Use JIRA, Other Atlassian Tools

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 11, 2010) - At Game Developers Conference 2010 (GDC), Atlassian is hosting Donkey Kong champion and star of King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, Steve Wiebe, at their booth, in addition to demoing their software development tools. Wiebe will sign autographs, mingle with game developers and, most importantly, try to beat the current Donkey Kong world record.

Atlassian, makers of software development tools, will be attending the Game Developers Conference as an exhibit sponsor. Over 150 game development companies, including Zynga and Linden Lab, use Atlassian software for tasks such as bug and project tracking, agile planning, QA and more -- all common tasks for game developers coding in any language from C++ or C# to PHP or Python.

Zynga, the popular social gaming company whose titles include FarmVille and Mafia Wars, has been an Atlassian customer since 2008. "Every [Zynga] game you can play has some interaction with Atlassian tools," said Micah Figone, Zynga QA Manager.

In 2007, Atlassian published a case study with Linden Lab Founder and CEO Philip Rosedale, creator of the virtual world Second Life. Linden Lab has relied heavily on Atlassian's bug tracking software, JIRA, for issue tracking and management of their popular massive multiplayer game. "Our productivity and our information exchange on a per-person basis is actually increasing as we get larger, which is kind of the holy grail of business productivity," commented Philip in the 2007 interview.

In preparation for the conference, Atlassian launched a new microsite with case studies and information on their game development software stack. The site features over 150 of Atlassian's game development customers.
