A Dream of an Evening for Children

The Northern New Jersey & Rockland County Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International Announces Its 4th Annual Dream Gala

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 13, 2006 -- Some dream of a trip to Hawaii, others dream of a weekend golf outing, and everyone dreams of a cure for one of the most complicated and debilitating diseases affecting children -- Juvenile Diabetes. This March, the Northern New Jersey & Rockland County Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is holding its annual Dream Gala and auction, a fun-filled evening that aims to raise more than $800,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

To be held on Saturday, March 25, 2006, the black-tie event will honor Craig Koch, Chief Executive Officer of The Hertz Corporation, as its 2006 Man of the Year. The event will feature many live and silent auction items -- including car leases for a BMW and Ford Mustang, trips to Hawaii, London and Denver, a New York Jets skybox, and a variety of golf outing packages -- as well as a "Fund-A-Cure" drive in which donations are made directly to fund a diabetes research grant. Entertainment will be provided by The Charles St. Paul Orchestra to help guests dance the night away.

"We're excited about our Dream Gala with the wide array of auction items for the event -- from golf outings to world-class trips -- and we're aggressively working toward our goal of raising more than $800,000 for JDRF," commented chapter President David Zolotorofe. "JDRF has always focused on a single goal -- accelerating research to find a cure for diabetes and its complications. With more than 15,000 children in New Jersey suffering from this disease, it's critical that we all step forward to support JDRF, an organization that has awarded more money for diabetes research than any other charitable organization."

Taking place at the Marriott at Glenpointe in Teaneck, New Jersey (100 Frank W Burr Boulevard, Teaneck, NJ) on Saturday, March 25, 2006, the event will commence at 6:30 pm. Tickets for the Dream Gala are $250. To purchase tickets, or for more information, contact Doug Rouse at 201-568-4838.

JDRF, the leading charitable funder and advocate of juvenile (type 1) diabetes research worldwide, was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with juvenile diabetes -- a disease which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin-dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Since inception, JDRF has provided more than $800 million in direct funding to diabetes research. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and research-related education. JDRF's mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. For more information, visit the JDRF web site at or call 201-568-4838.
