A Heartfelt Thanks to the Most Loyal Hyatt Employee

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 10, 2006 -- Smiling brightly on a cool crisp morning at the daily Hyatt San Jose Housekeeping meeting is a very special employee named Josefa Maldonaldo -- the most tenured employee in the entire Hyatt Corporation.

For over 40 years her days here begin with her many housekeeping friends, gearing up for another shift in an arduous and usually overlooked department that cleans and prepares the guest rooms situated on this 17 plus acre resort-styled property.

Josefa is entering her 43rd straight year as a housekeeper at the San Jose Hyatt property. Originally from Puerto Rico, Josefa came to the U.S. with her husband who was assigned to an Army base in California. Starting in 1963 for $1.56 an hour, she has become the most loyal of Hyatt employees.

While she recalls many celebrities such as the Supremes, Luz Miguel, Antonio Aguilar, Rocio Durcan and others, she loved her job at Hyatt San Jose because of the people and tranquility of its setting.

Retirement will be busy for Josefa as she cares for her husband and spends more time with her fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

"Throughout the past four decades of changes in Silicon Valley, Josefa Maldonaldo's record of employment with Hyatt and her story of raising a family all the while, stands as an achievement and shining beacon we can all celebrate," noted Mark Hyde, Director of Human Resources for Hyatt San Jose.
