Sanctuary International Day Spas has partnered with acclaimed Toronto-based cosmetic and plastic surgeon, Dr. Cory Goldberg, to launch cottage country's first true medispa at the historic Windermere House on Lake Rosseau. The spa is created in the same vein as surgical retreats frequented by Hollywood's stars where patrons can come for all the rest and relaxation of traditional luxury spas, and also enjoy non-invasive medical esthetic treatments like body contouring, injectables and dermal peels.

Spa services, cottage vacations and medical esthetics are unified in the mission to provide their patrons with a refreshed mental and physical outlook with every visit. Dr. Goldberg saw an opportunity to create a retreat where people can enjoy the secrecy afforded to celebrities who undergo subtle cosmetic procedures on vacation.

"Partnering with luxury accommodations and a luxury spa was a natural solution when I considered that many of my patients undergo medical esthetic procedures and enjoy the compliments showered on them by friends and family without revealing their beauty secrets," says Dr. Goldberg, Cosmetic and Plastic Surgeon and Medical Director at select Sanctuary Day Spas. "Our unique Sanctuary Day Spa provides the ideal retreat for people to slip away for a pampering and tap into a few easy medical procedures while leaving their friends none the wiser," he says.

A unique medispa experience

The Sanctuary Spa at Windermere House offers six treatment rooms (including a couple's room), comfortable lounge, enclosed manicure and pedicure area, indoor fitness centre as well as women's and men's steam rooms and showers. The full service spa at Windermere offers many of the same Sanctuary spa services enjoyed at the six other locations, plus exclusive treatments and a wide range of non-invasive medical treatments, provided under the care of renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Cory S Goldberg and assisted by Heather Burly, the spa's full-time Registered Practical Nurse.

Specialty and medical esthetic treatments available exclusively at the Windermere location include:

LipoSonix™ – an exciting non-surgical procedure that uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to permanently eliminate targeted fat around the waistline and thighs.

SilkPeel® – the next generation of microdermabrasion that delivers profound results painlessly while simultaneously infusing specialized treatment serums deep within the skin.

Injectables including Botox, Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm and Teosyal.

Golfer's Massage Treatment where guests can limber up for play or relax tired muscles after a day on the course.

Special Wedding Packages including a bride and groom couples package and a manicure/pedicure bridal party offer.

Seascape Massage by Boat is an amazing relaxation massage service while silently cruising Lake Rosseau on a 24 ft Sea Scape powered by BionX electric drive. Services available July 2011.

The spa officially opens to the public in summer 2011 and will be open annually from spring through thanksgiving. Dr. Goldberg together with Sanctuary International Day Spas have plans to expand the spa offerings to include surgical procedures in the future so patients can elect cosmetic and plastic surgeries and recover in the serene atmosphere of the Muskokas.

About Windermere House

Windermere House, located on prestigious Lake Rosseau in Muskoka, has enjoyed a reputation of refinement and tradition since it first started welcoming guests in 1870. The former structure was destroyed by fire in 1996 during filming of the Hollywood movie The Long Kiss Goodnight. The resort was reopened in 1997 after being rebuilt to the original design. In 2007, it was purchased by Paul Jeffery, under whose direction Windermere House was extensively renovated. The renovations combined the resort's tradition and charm with state-of-the-art accommodations and facilities. Now working with Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants, one of Canada's leading fine dining restaurant and event management companies, the focus is on bringing a new standard of hospitality to the Muskoka region, making Windermere House the preferred destination for vacationers and cottagers alike.

Windermere House is considered to be the oldest hotel in Canada, and was one of the original grand lakefront resorts in Muskoka. The 57-room resort currently operates on a seasonal basis, from mid-May until Thanksgiving. On-site facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, four dining facilities, tennis courts and a function space for up to 150 people. A sandy beach, boat docks and rentals, and the classic Windermere Golf and Country Club are all immediately adjacent to the resort. The new (2009) Cottages at Windermere House features an exclusive enclave of luxurious three-bedroom fractional ownership waterfront cottages.
