A Jury Systems Improvements Act Action Against ACS Government Services, Inc.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 16, 2007 -- A Jury Systems Improvement Act ("JSIA") action, filed in July 2003 on behalf of a former employee of ACS Government Services, Inc., Richard Shaffer, against that company, is scheduled for trial in April 2007. The case is pending in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.

The JSIA protects employees who are serving on a jury from being terminated as a result of their jury service. This action charges that ACS terminated Shaffer as a result of his service as a grand juror for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia in January 2003. ACS sold most of its federal business to Lockheed Martin Corp. in December 2003. In late November 2006, the ACS CEO and CFO resigned over ethics violations unrelated to this lawsuit.

ACS is represented by Allison Davis of Ford & Harrison, LLP in Washington, DC. Richard Shaffer is represented by R. Scott Oswald and Adam Augustine Carter of The Employment Law Group, P.C., in Washington, DC.
