A Settlement of $17M Reached in Class Actions Against Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited

To be eligible for compensation, class members must submit a completed Claim Form no later than May 20, 2016


TORONTO, ONTARIO and VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Feb. 20, 2016) - A settlement has been reached in the class actions against Agnico arising from Agnico's alleged failure to disclose operational issues at its Goldex mine before the mine's closure in 2011. Agnico has agreed to pay $17,000,000. The settlement is a compromise of disputed claims and is not an admission of liability or wrongdoing by Agnico.

The settlement has been approved by the Ontario and Quebec Courts. The Courts have appointed RicePoint Administration Inc. as the Administrator of the settlement. To be eligible for compensation, class members must submit a completed Claim Form to RicePoint Administration Inc. no later than May 20, 2016.
