Government of Canada supports the Festival Western de St-Tite


SAINT-TITE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 7, 2014) - Canadian Heritage and Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, and the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced funding for the 47th Festival Western de St-Tite. The Festival is taking place from September 5 to 14, 2014.

Canadian Heritage is providing $109,000 for the Festival's 2014 edition. This funding, from the Local Festivals component of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, will be used for activities to help create a country and western atmosphere.

Under the Quebec Economic Development Program, CED granted $174,877 in non-repayable funding to promote the Festival's 2013 and 2014 seasons in markets outside Quebec. This support, announced on September 12, 2013, also helped provide the Festival with infrastructure to develop services for visitors.
