AAA New Mexico: Weekend Gas Watch

ALBUQUERQUE, NM--(Marketwire - June 20, 2008) - Record high pump prices in New Mexico appear to be slowing down, according to AAA New Mexico Weekend Gas Watch.

In New Mexico, the current average is $3.970 a gallon. That's up only a penny since last week. Nationally, the average price increased almost two cents to $4.075 a gallon.

"It appears the recent run-up in gas prices may have slowed in many regions," said AAA New Mexico spokesman Dan Ronan. "However, it is difficult to say if that will hold for the upcoming weeks considering the price of crude remains above $130 a barrel."

The most expensive gas in New Mexico is in Santa Fe at $3.988 a gallon. Gas prices in Santa Fe dropped two-tenths of a penny a gallon. The state's cheapest gas is in Albuquerque at $3.875 a gallon, up nearly two cents.
