AAA Texas: Weekend Gas Watch

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - June 8, 2007) - Gasoline prices continued to move lower for the second consecutive week, having fallen four cents a gallon this week to $3.009, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.

El Paso dropped two cents to $3.25 a gallon, but has the highest average on the survey this week. Corpus Christi has the lowest average at $2.930 a gallon -- down four cents.

"The type of vehicle a motorist drives, how it's maintained and driven are the most important factors for both conserving fuel and being safe behind the wheel," said AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau. "Tips for conserving fuel, saving money and protecting the environment can be found in AAA's brochure called the 'Gas Watcher's Guide,' which is available for free in all of the AAA district offices in Texas."

The national average is $3.131 a gallon -- a six cent weekly decrease.
