AAAASF Board Appoints Griffin-Rossi Executive Director

First Female ED in 35-Year History

GURNEE, IL--(Marketwired - November 26, 2014) - The Board of Directors for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF) has appointed Theresa Griffin-Rossi, Certified Association Executive (CAE) as the organization's executive director. The unanimous decision was made at a board of directors meeting Oct. 25.

Griffin-Rossi is the first female executive director to lead AAAASF in its 35-year history. She has served AAAASF the last 14 years in management positions, most recently as chief operating officer and interim executive director. She also has served as director of education and legislative affairs and director of accreditation. Prior to AAAASF, she was associate finance director and director of education for Iowans for Tax Relief and the Tax Education Foundation. 

AAAASF Board President, Dr. Foad Nahai, said, "Theresa is a leader who, for years, has effectively and loyally served AAAASF. It was her leadership qualities, work ethic, personal attributes, commitment and intimate knowledge of the organization that made her the clear and unanimous choice of the board. We all look forward to working with her as we further our mission of patient safety and continue to expand the organization."

Griffin-Rossi earned a degree in business management from Muscatine Community College in Muscatine, Iowa and studied business administration at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. She earned the CAE credential from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in 2004 and most recently served on the ASAE Professional Development Council. She continues to serve in the writer's pool for the Association Now publication.

She enjoys gardening, art, gourmet cooking and spending time entertaining her family and friends. She resides in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. with her husband Ken and her Jack Russell terrier Nunzio.
