Abcourt Mines Inc.: The Second Hole Drilled On The Jonpol Property Intersected Good Silver Values Plus Some Interesting Copper And Zinc Values

MONT-ST-HILAIRE, QUEBEC, CANADA--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2009) -

Mr. Renaud Hinse, president and C.E.O. of Abcourt Mines Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ABI)(BERLIN:ABI)(FRANKFURT:ABI), is pleased to announce the results of hole J09-1B drilled on section 450 W on the Jonpol property near Amos, Quebec. This hole was drilled from north to south with a dip of 85˚ at the collar flattening to 50˚ at 625 m depth. Five mineralized zones were cut. At a depth of about 200 meters from surface, two good silver values were intersected, at a depth of 425 m., 2.23 m of core averaged 7.33% zinc and deeper in the hole, some interesting silver-copper values were also intersected. See details below:

From To Length meter Au g/t Ag g/t Cu % Zn %
207.50 208.50 1.00 0.128 228.4 0.16 0.03
225.00 227.00 2.00 0.537 313.0 0.10 0.50

720.50 722.50 2.00 0.221 43.35 2.31 0.07

True width represents about one half of the core length. The mineralized zones extend over a strike distance of 450 meters and they have been followed down by drilling to a depth of 750 meters. However, the density of drilling is low and the zone is still open along strike and at depth. Our objective at Jonpol is to extend the known mineralized zones and eventually to locate a large massive sulphide deposit.

Assays were done at Technilab S.G.B.Inc, a qualified laboratory.

A major drilling programme (10,000 meters) has started on January 18, on the Elder-Tagami property. A contract for the first phase of this programme has been awarded.

Abcourt Mines Inc. is an exploration and development company with strategically located properties in Northwestern Quebec, Canada. The Abcourt-Barvue project with 43-101 silver-zinc ore reserves and resources and the Elder mine with 43-101 gold resources and the Aldermac property with historical copper-zinc resources are all former producers. Abcourt is now focused on bringing the Abcourt-Barvue and Elder projects back in production and at the same time, it is working on other projects (Aldermac, Jonpol and Vendome), to increase its mineral resources inventory. A positive 43-101 feasibility study was completed in 2007 on the Abcourt-Barvue project. In addition, mill equipment was purchased. To know more about Abcourt, please consult our web site and Sedar, see "Abcourt Mines Inc". A small location plan and longitudinal projection of the Aldermac mineralized zones are shown on our web site. A small location plan of the Elder and Tagami properties is also shown on our web site.
