Amato-McCoy to Research Retail Technology Purchase Intent, Adoption, and Use

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Nov 15, 2011) - Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks Company (NYSE: HHS), today announced the appointment of Deena Amato-McCoy as Research Analyst for its Retail and Banking practice. Within Aberdeen's Retail and Banking research practice Amato-McCoy will be joining Vice President and Principal Analyst Sahir Anand, and Research Analyst Chris Cunnane.

Prior to joining the Aberdeen Group, Amato-McCoy spent eighteen years as a journalist, fifteen of them as a reporter and editor covering the retail industry and retail technology for publications including Grocery Headquarters, STORES, Chain Store Age, and others. She has been quoted extensively in retail industry publications, including Retail Touchpoints and DigitaSignageToday.

"The growing emphasis of customer experience, the proliferation of new and multiple channels, and the increasing importance of data-driven merchandising and marketing, have brought about myriad challenges and opportunities for B2C-centric businesses," said Kevin Martin, Senior Vice President, Research Operations for Aberdeen Group. Her experience as a journalist covering the retail industry, coupled with her first-hand perspectives and insights acquired directly from interactions with leading retailers makes her an ideal fit given our core competency of end-user driven research."

Amato-McCoy will focus her research activities on the adoption and use of retail technologies, including both back-end and customer-facing applications, optimization of the brick-and-mortar store experience, customer intelligence functions, emerging technologies such as social media, and related process management and technology value chain areas. Amato-McCoy will deliver her findings through published works, speaking engagements, on-line events, and the Aberdeen Retail Summit 2012, taking place May 1-2 at the Millennium Hotel in New York City.

Amato-McCoy resides in the Greater New York area.
