Aberdeen Group Announces Appointment of Andrew Boyd, PhD, to the Role of President Replacing Stephen Gold

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 5, 2009) - Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks Company (NYSE: HHS), announced the promotion of Andrew Boyd, currently Chief Research Officer, to President, replacing Stephen Gold, who is returning to an executive position in the enterprise software space. Stephen Gold has enjoyed a very successful three-year term at the helm and has every confidence that he is leaving Aberdeen in Dr. Boyd's capable hands.

"The decision to leave Aberdeen was very difficult given what the team has been able to accomplish and the friendships I have enjoyed," states Stephen Gold. "I depart knowing that Aberdeen is well underway to redefining the research market landscape with over 2.5M readers and serving the interests to over 90% of the Fortune 500. I know that Andrew Boyd, with whom I have worked so closely over the years, will continue to raise the bar and continue to deliver on Aberdeen's commitment to educate individuals to action."

"We greatly appreciate Stephen's leadership and the significant contributions he has made to Aberdeen over the years and wish him continued success in the future," said Spencer Joyner, Executive Vice-President and Corporate Officer, Harte-Hanks. "Aberdeen has never been more solidly positioned as the leading research provider in the market than it is today, thanks to Stephen Gold and his incorporation of cutting edge programs that continue to drive market awareness. Andrew Boyd's enormous success in leading Aberdeen's entire research organization and his passion to the continued success of Aberdeen made him the obvious choice to assume the role of President. With Andrew's deep industry experience, passion and knowledge of both the technology vendors, solutions providers and end user community, I am confident that he will continue on Aberdeen's path of growth and success."

As CRO, Dr. Boyd was responsible for the development and delivery of Aberdeen's research agenda, as well as managing day-to-day research operations. Prior to joining Aberdeen, Dr. Boyd held a number of senior product, strategy and general management positions at Sage Software where he was responsible for the design, development, launch and marketing of several product-lines in the United States, Europe and Asia. Before joining Sage, Boyd was the Vice President of Technology and Operations for Enews, Inc., an e-commerce subsidiary of Barnes & Noble. While at Enews, Boyd managed and developed the product engineering, project management and database groups, taking the technology organization from a handful to a team of over fifty. Boyd holds a PhD in Information Systems from City University, London, an MS in Information Systems from Drexel University and has a BBA in Marketing from Temple University. He is a frequent speaker at international industry events and is a regular contributor to both industry and academic publications.
