Abington Bancorp, Inc. Announces Results of Special Meeting of Shareholders and Stock Purchases to Fund Plan

JENKINTOWN, PA--(Marketwire - January 30, 2008) - Abington Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: ABBC) (the "Company"), the holding company for Abington Bank, today announced it had received approval of the two proposals presented to shareholders at the special meeting held today at the Huntingdon Valley Country Club.

At the special meeting, shareholders approved the adoption of the 2007 Stock Option Plan and the 2007 Recognition and Retention Plan.

In order to fund the 2007 Recognition and Retention Plan adopted today, the related trust will purchase 520,916 shares of Abington Bancorp's common stock in the open market. Purchases will be made from time to time at the discretion of management.
