Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX), via our Front Row Centre Events, and BY Experience, today announced Barrymore can be seen exclusively at participating movie theatres in Canada on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 7 p.m. local time (some locations to start at 8 p.m. local time). Encore presentations will begin Saturday, June 2, 2012 through Saturday June 10, 2012, showtimes will vary by location. Barrymore premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival and will be shown exclusively at Canadian movie theatres before being presented at movie theatres around the world this fall.

A special longer engagement will be offered at the following theatres beginning May 25th: Cineplex Odeon Sheppard Cinemas in Toronto, ON, Cineplex Odeon Cavendish Mall Cinemas in Montreal, PQ and Cineplex Odeon International Village in Vancouver, BC. Showtimes will vary by location.

"Movie and stage lovers should not miss Christopher Plummer performing one of his most celebrated roles in one of Canada's most iconic theatres," said Pat Marshall, Vice President, Communications and Investor Relations, Cineplex Entertainment. "Canadians are the first people in the world to have the opportunity to enjoy this exclusive presentation on the big screen from Director Érik Canuel, Executive Producers Steve Kalafer and Peter LeDonne and BY Experience."

Based on the play by William Luce, Barrymore is the portrayal of acclaimed American actor John Barrymore, one of the greatest Shakespearean actors of all time. Set on a Broadway stage in 1942, the final year of John's life, the iconic actor fights to recreate his performance in the title role of Shakespeare's Richard III. Barrymore stars Christopher Plummer and is directed and adapted for the screen by Érik Canuel (Bon Cop, Bad Cop). This special presentation was filmed over seven days at Toronto's Elgin Theatre.

Tickets for Barrymore are now available at participating theatre box offices and online at or our mobile site
