Accell Announces Availability of Active DisplayPort to DVI Single-Link Adapters

The UltraAV® Active DisplayPort to DVI and Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapters Are ATI Eyefinity™ Multi-Display Validated

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - August 31, 2010) -  Accell, a provider of premium audio/video and computer accessories, today announced the upcoming availability of the company's much-anticipated UltraAV Active DisplayPort to DVI Single-Link adapter and UltraAV Active Mini DisplayPort to DVI Single-Link adapter. The adapters are available now and have an MSRP of $29.99.

The UltraAV Active DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort active adapters enable the connection of a single-mode DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort supported computer to a DVI supported television, monitor or projector. The active adapters seamlessly convert a single-mode DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort video signal into a DVI digital video signal, requiring no external power.

The adapters are ATI Eyefinity Multi-Display "validated" and support multiple independent display outputs simultaneously, enabling a panoramic visual environment when used with an ATI Radeon™ video card supporting ATI Eyefinity Multi-Display technology. This designation is awarded only to those products that have undergone extensive synthetic and real world testing to confirm support for ATI Eyefinity Technology.

"As many are upgrading to DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort-enabled video cards, consumers are looking to retain the use of their DVI Monitor while optimizing the multi-monitor capability of their new graphics solution," stated K.Y. Tsai, vice president of marketing, Accell. "This upgrade environment creates significant demand for the adapter, so we're looking forward to bringing this product to market, and are proud to say it was awarded with ATI Eyefinity Multi-Display validation."

ATI Eyefinity technology can support multiple displays using a single enabled ATI Radeon™ graphics card with Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems -- the number of displays may vary by board design and you should confirm exact specifications with the applicable manufacturer before purchase. ATI Eyefinity technology works with games that support non-standard aspect ratios, which is required for panning across multiple displays.
