Accept360™ Provides Visibility Across Dozens of ALM Systems via Tasktop Sync

Agile Collaboration Extended to Both Eclipse and Microsoft Visual Studio

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - Aug 9, 2011) - AGILE2011 Conference -- Accept Software (www.accept360.com), the leader in enterprise product development, and Tasktop Technologies (www.tasktop.com), creators of Eclipse Mylyn and the leader in Agile Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) developer tools and interoperability, today announced Accept360 IDE integration for Visual Studio. Accept and Tasktop also announced a collaboration to provide visibility and reporting across diverse ALM systems via the Tasktop Sync ALM integration server.

"Tasktop Dev for Visual Studio now supports Accept360, enabling developers on the Microsoft development platform to access Accept360 without leaving their home environment," said Wesley Coelho, director of business development at Tasktop Technologies. "This helps streamline development, improves project visibility and drives productivity by providing direct access to Accept360 Agile from within the developer's workflow. The new Visual Studio support complements the existing Accept360 integration in Tasktop Dev for the Eclipse IDE."

Tasktop Sync provides automated server side data integration for visibility and reporting across multiple ALM systems in heterogeneous IT environments. Unlike previous approaches to ALM synchronization, Tasktop Sync is built on the industry-standard Mylyn ALM interoperability framework to provide real-time synchronization, automatic and configuration-based conflict resolution, and support for more than two dozen ALM tools' tracking and reporting facilities. Building on Tasktop's Task Federation™ technology, Tasktop Sync ensures that each stakeholder in the software development and delivery process has access to the data that they need within their tool of choice, even if that data resides between requirements management, Agile development and traditional quality management systems.

Participation in Tasktop Sync allows the Accept360 product to synchronize information to and from third party developer tools and ALM systems. This enables the following benefits:

  • Defects in Accept360 can be kept synchronized with defects in ALM systems such as HP Quality Center or IBM Rational Team Concert.
  • This allows Accept customers to gain traceability and reporting visibility across a variety of systems.
  • It makes it easy to adopt Accept360 and integrate it into existing heterogeneous IT environments and diverse software development processes.

"The new collaboration with Tasktop will accelerate Accept's strategy to provide a complete, end-to-end integrated product innovation management solution to increase agility and enable faster, confident decision making through visibility, real time analytics, and integrated collaboration," said John Haniotis, senior vice president of products for Accept Software. "Participation in Tasktop Sync allows our Accept360 product to synchronize information with third party developer tools and ALM systems, extending the efficiency, visibility and collaboration that goes into great product innovation and helping our customers deliver successful products faster."
