Accident Involving Bombardier CRJ200 in Lexington, KY.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 27, 2006) - A Comair Bombardier CRJ200 50-passenger regional jet, operating as Delta flight #5191, was involved in an accident shortly after 6:00 a.m. local time while the aircraft was en route from Lexington, Kentucky to Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport. The accident occurred shortly after take-off.

Preliminary information issued by Comair indicates that the aircraft carried 47 passengers and 3 crew members, although all information of this nature is subject to confirmation by Comair.

Bombardier Aerospace accident response team members are on their way to the accident scene to assist the United States FAA, National Transportation Safety Board, Transportation Safety Board of Canada and Transport Canada authorities in the accident investigation.

Bombardier is deeply saddened by this tragic event and we extend our sympathies to the families of those who have lost their lives. Bombardier will provide every assistance to the investigating authorities to determine the cause of this accident.
