Acclaimed Chefs Unite for Collaborative Dinner Before Battling in National Culinary Competition

San Pellegrino winners come together for VISA Infinite Dinner at Rouge Restaurant

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 2, 2012) - Chef Paul Rogalski, Chief Culinary Officer and co-owner of Rouge Restaurant and Executive Chef Michael Dekker have invited fellow San Pellegrino winner Chef Jonathan Gushue to join them for a once in a lifetime, collaborative dinner as part of the VISA Infinite Dinner Series at Rouge Restaurant. Chef Rogalski will play host to Chef Gushue of Relais & Chateau property, Langdon Hall in Ontario, and welcome him into his kitchen, bringing their elevated skills and techniques together for one special evening.

The renowned chefs played an instrumental role in the Canadian culinary scene in 2010, putting Canada's gastronomic achievements on the map when they ranked in the top 100 of one of the world's most prestigious measures of global restaurant achievement. The VISA Infinite Dinner will celebrate both restaurants having achieved significant world recognition, and demonstrate that these top chefs remain culinary forces to be reckoned with.

The VISA Infinite Dining Series offers a series of dinners where prominent Canadian chefs open their restaurants exclusively to Visa Infinite cardholders. Participants will experience an unforgettable and educational evening with tasting menus developed by the chefs to highlight their personal culinary philosophies. The unique chef experience offers the chefs a blank canvas on which to express their culinary passions, and guests are invited to mix, mingle and interact during demonstrations and tastings.

"No other Canadian restaurant has made the San Pellegrino list since, so it seems fitting that we come together to create the ultimate dinning adventure," said Chef Rogalski. "We're ready to showcase the progression of the Canadian culinary scene as we know it."

Not only will the evening pay tribute to three of Canada's finest chef's, but it must be noted that Chef Dekker and Chef Gushue both won their regional battles for the Gold Medal Plates competition, and following this exclusive event they will head to the Canadian Culinary Competition in Kelowna to battle each other head-to-head in finals for national bragging rights.

"We're excited to combine our culinary styles and philosophies and treat Calgarians to a memorable, one-of-a-kind dining experience," said Chef Dekker. "On the other hand, I'm hoping to get some insight behind Chef Gushue's cooking style and out-cook him at the competition. May the best chef win!"

The dinner takes place on Tuesday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $160 per person plus tax and includes a champagne reception, a multi-course meal and carefully chosen wine pairings. To reserve a place at the table and join these masterful chefs in Rouge's historic Cross House in Inglewood, located at 1240 8 Avenue Southeast, call 1-888-711-9399.
