Acclaris Amplifies Corporate Social Responsibility Program

Company Announces First-Year Milestones, Hosts March of Dimes National Ambassador and Outlines Key Focus Areas for 2015 Acclaris Cares Program

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwired - Apr 7, 2015) - Acclaris, a leading SaaS technology and services provider for account-based health plans, today announced the successful completion of the first year of Acclaris Cares, its new global corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. In addition, the company formally established its commitment to the Tampa Bay March for Babies and shared its CSR plan for 2015.

Milestone First Year

With a focus on raising money and volunteering time for local charities, the Acclaris Cares program has boosted morale and further bonded employees. In its first year, Acclaris Cares set a record pace for its U.S. program as a benchmark for continued success, including:

  • Raising $25,000 for the United Way -- with 90 volunteers logging more than 375 hours volunteering at community service events in the Tampa Bay area and Overland Park, Kansas, including The Children's Home Inc., Boys & Girls Club, Metropolitan Ministries, Meals on Wheels of Tampa and The Spring.
  • Ranking second highest in volunteer participation in all of Tampa Bay, proving more community support than companies ten times its size.
  • Earning "The March of Dimes Rookie of the Year" award.
  • Donating gifts to the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay for more than 40 local families.
  • Sponsoring the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and collecting pop tabs to benefit local Ronald McDonald House Charities.
  • Hosting events such as Penny Wars, Potluck Lunches, Easter Seals and NICU Tours, painting classes, and creating an Acclaris Cookbook, which were all focused on teamwork and bettering the community.

United Way Relationship Manager Amanda Amore noted, "Acclaris had the most impressive first-year campaign I have ever seen! Not only has the company raised more than 15 times the average inaugural campaign, but it also ran a model campaign. Acclaris had more than 90 percent of its employees participating in our regional Day of Caring -- employees volunteered at several of our partnering agencies, helping them complete projects that they wouldn't have had the man power to do otherwise. The Acclaris leadership team is also heavily involved with United Way Suncoast, building relationships and giving their time to see the community partners come together. We are thrilled to have Acclaris as a partner, and we are excited to see how our partnership grows."

Marching Ahead

With a current focus on the 2015 March of Dimes Campaign, Acclaris recently hosted the March of Dimes National Ambassador Elijah Jackson for a luncheon in its Tampa headquarters -- offering the Acclaris team another way to see how their hard work is changing lives. Serving as a United Way Cabinet Member and volunteering for the March of Dimes for almost a decade, Acclaris COO Bill Keena is the 2015 Hillsborough March for Babies Chair and leads the March for Babies Executive Leadership Team to advocate for this worthy cause and work with local Tampa executives to drive additional sponsorships and donations for the 2015 March for Babies walk.

"Prematurity has been an especially critical issue in the Tampa Bay area, and I am honored to Chair the March for Babies to drive awareness and funding for our local programs," noted Keena. "The March of Dimes has saved countless lives over the years, and as a father of four I am dedicated to fighting for stronger, healthier babies and pregnancies for the generations ahead. Acclaris is committed to serving the communities and local families who need our support the most."

A 2015 corporate sponsor, Acclaris set a goal of raising $10,000 for the walk this year and is currently the lead corporate fundraiser. The campaign will include events such as Painting with Lindsey, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Tours, Jeans Week and a Silent Auction through the month of April. Setting the 2015 Standard

Comprised of in-office campaigns and out-office, hands-on events, the Acclaris Cares Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee is organizing fundraisers for local charities, as well as volunteering events for employees to participate in the community. Acclaris supports activities that enhance and serve the communities in which its employees live by sharing its social, intellectual and economic resources. As a global team, Acclaris Cares will focus 2015 community involvement efforts on the four key areas deemed most important by its employees -- elderly, childcare, healthcare and poverty.

Led by Acclaris CSR Executive Sponsor Bill Keena, the current focus of the Acclaris Cares program is squarely on childcare with the March of Dimes campaign, but the remainder of the year will span charitable events that benefit elderly, children, health and poverty across the board. The United Way Day of Caring, American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and a mix of other events will round out the year.

"As a technology provider committed to improving healthcare experiences for people at all stages of their lives, it is important that we support the people around us. CSR programs are a powerful way to build a stronger team and unite our employees -- all while giving back to our community," said Dean Mason, CEO of Acclaris. "It is critical that we serve the communities in which we do business, and Acclaris Cares will help us fulfill that obligation. Better yet, we will be having a lot of fun along the way."
