Acclaris Executive to Present at the 29th Annual ECFC Administrators' Symposium

Featured Session Will Address the Link Between Financial Health, Well-Being and Employee Productivity

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwired - August 01, 2016) - At the 29th Annual ECFC Administrators' Symposium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Carlos Hernandez, vice president of strategic alliances for Acclaris, will join Steven A. Nyce, director of research and innovation at Willis Towers Watson, to present a session on the link between financial health and well-being on August 4 at 9:30 a.m. The Industry Showcase session entitled, "Connecting Financial Health and Well-Being - Why Does It Matter and How Do Health Savings and Reimbursement Accounts/CDH Make a Difference?" will highlight the undeniable connection between employees' physical and financial health and workforce productivity.

"The way people view and manage their physical and financial health is rapidly changing, and the health care industry needs to adapt to meet the needs of consumers and employers -- both in the short- and long-term," noted Hernandez. "We're looking forward to sharing our perspective on why the link between financial health, physical well-being and employee productivity is so important, as well as ways to empower consumers to overcome the associated challenges."

According to the Willis Towers Watson Global Benefit Attitudes Survey 2015/16, health and financial well-being are deeply connected. Only 45 percent of U.S. employees are satisfied with their financial situation, and one in five believe that their financial problems are negatively impacting their life. In fact, employees with financial issues are more stressed, less healthy, and miss more days of work.

The session will explore:

  • How financial concerns affect health concerns
  • Why better understanding employees' health care concerns and financial challenges can drive better outcomes
  • Ways employers, health plans, banks and benefits administrators can build the trust and transparency needed to create engaging programs
  • The role of health savings and reimbursement accounts and how to help employees and plan members improve both their physical and financial health

The 29th Annual ECFC Flexible Benefit Administrators' Symposium is widely regarded as the premier networking and professional development event for employers, plan sponsors, third-party administrators and other service providers in the consumer-directed benefits industry. The Symposium offers practical advice, technical education and regulatory updates from industry leaders regarding the evolution of consumer-driven health care.
