Acer Mobile Technology Platform Challenge Contest Finalists Revealed; Voting Now Open to the Public

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - February 2, 2011) -  Acer America today announced the finalists for its Acer Mobile Technology Platform Challenge, which gives K-12 schools the chance to win notebooks and netbooks from Acer while learning more about mobile technology platforms that will best suit their students' needs.

School and IT administrators from around the nation submitted entries showing how the new PCs would help their school's students acquire 21st century skills. In addition, school and IT administrators took part in a quiz on the differences between notebooks and netbooks to help them identify their schools' requirements.

The 10 finalists were announced today and are now listed on Acer America's education website. Voting is now open to the public to determine two winners. See the Acer Education website for information on the schools, program and to vote:

The finalists are:

  • Miller Elementary School (Canton, MI)
  • North Canton City Schools -- Hoover High School (North Canton, OH)
  • Pleasant Hill Elementary -- Lexington District One (Lexington, SC)
  • Edison High School (Edison, NJ)
  • Petal Middle School (Petal, MS)
  • Red Cross Elementary -- Barren County Schools (Glasgow, KY)
  • North Canton Middle School (North Canton, OH)
  • Springville Elementary School (Springville, AL)
  • Pahoa High and Intermediate School (Pahoa, HI)
  • Saranac Community Schools (Saranac, MI)

The grand prize winner will receive a netbook classroom from Acer (20 Aspire® Netbooks). The second place winner will receive a multimedia library from Acer (5 Acer Aspire Timeline® Notebooks).

Public voting ends on March 14, 2011 and contest winners will be announced on March 28, 2011.
