Acero-Martin Employees Safe and Development Continuing at Pinaya Project After Peru Earthquake

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 17, 2007) - Acero-Martin Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ASD)(FRANKFURT:AMX) (the "Company") confirms that in the wake of the large earthquake that hit Peru on August 15th, all its employees and their immediate families are accounted for as safe and well. The earthquake epicenter was approximately 145 southeast of Lima and over 700 kilometers from the Pinaya project.

The Company's ongoing development and exploration work at Pinaya has not been affected by the earthquake and is continuing as normal.
