Government of Canada supports innovative entrepreneurship in Estrie


SHERBROOKE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 15, 2014) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the organization ACET (Accélérateur de création d'entreprises technologiques) has been granted funding for the pursuit of its activities.

This assistance has been awarded in the form of a $293,500 non-repayable financial contribution through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

  • With this funding, CED is renewing its agreement with ACET to ensure the organization can continue providing guidance to new entrepreneurs and is able to encourage and support the creation and pre-startup of at least 36 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises within the next three years.
  • This project will play a significant part in modernizing the industrial fabric of Estrie and in promoting the retention of highly-skilled labour in the region.
  • The supported startups will contribute to the creation of high-level jobs, notably for young university graduates.
