Acopia Harvest of Central Falls Promotes Increased, Sustainable Food Production and Food Safety

CENTRAL FALLS, RI--(Marketwired - Jul 13, 2015) - Acopia Harvest, a sustainable technology company specializing in hydroponics, provided a tour of their commercial facility to Rhode Island Congressman Jim Langevin and Congressman David Cicilline on Thursday.

The Acopia Harvest mission is to increase awareness of its urban hydroponic program model, which aims to reduce carbon emissions to the environment by 94% via local and alternate sustainable food production practices. As the human population continues to grow expeditiously, the resources required to sustain such a population rapidly diminish. The company intends to bring recognition to both the City of Central Falls and the State as a whole for its part in sustainable, urban food production and safety. Its various programs and technologies aim to promote new industry, education, and job creation all while in compliance with the urgent needs of our planet.

The Congressmen's visit Thursday prompted fresh dialogue on ways to promote the City of Central Falls as a leader and example for other cities in the nation.

Amy Chauvin, Acopia Harvest Director of Operations explains, "We are providing locally-grown, toxic chemical-free, pesticide-free produce year-round right in the heart of Central Falls. We are positioned to be a strong economic, social and environmental ally to our local and national community. There is much we can accomplish, together, with RI Leadership to bring these new avenues for growth and development to this State."

The Acopia team believes they bring abundant opportunities and benefits to not just the State, but to the nation and the planet as a whole. Ms. Chauvin adds, "Sustainable industry is part of the new industrial revolution. We are proud to be an important part of it."
