Acreo, a Leading European Contract R&D Institute in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Purchases Additional PacketLogic Systems From Procera Networks

Acreo Uses PacketLogic to Analyze Current and Anticipated Internet Traffic Patterns and User Behavior in the Acreo National Test Bed

VARBERG, SWEDEN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 20, 2007 -- Procera® Networks, Inc. (OTCBB: PRNW), a pioneering developer of intelligent network traffic and service management infrastructure equipment, today announced that Acreo, Sweden's leading ICT research and development organization, has purchased additional PacketLogic PL7600s. The PacketLogic systems are used for measuring and analyzing network traffic patterns to be included in Acreo's core research. Acreo operates the Acreo National Test Bed (ANT), which is one of the major research test beds in Europe. ANT comprises ultra high-speed transmission research and an IP-based triple play network with real customers and innovative services. The test bed connects the research facilities in Kista outside Stockholm with Acreo's metro network in Hudiksvall.

"PacketLogic provides the accuracy and granularity required by a high-end research organization like Acreo," says Andreas Aurelius, Project manager at Acreo. "We also use PacketLogic beyond passive measurements to manage and direct traffic to see the effect on traffic patterns. Recently we have experienced an immense interest in this kind of research, both at international conferences and directly from the access network suppliers."

The research being developed by Acreo represents the future traffic and bandwidth conditions for Procera Networks' core customer segment, Broadband Service Providers (BSPs). As bandwidth capacity requirements continue to explode due to video file sharing, IPTV, and VoIP, the tier two and three levels of BSPs are hard pressed for the budget to install multi-million dollar infrastructure upgrades, so a traffic management, analysis and control solution is becoming increasingly important to maintain a profitable business model and the highest quality service-level for the customer.

"A research facility like Acreo is a solid validation of PacketLogic's functionality," says Sven Nowicki, EVP of EMEA Operations at Procera Networks. "It also provides valuable input on new features and potential future requirements to our product development roadmap."
