Acriche Named Product of the Year for 2006 by Prestigious Electronics Magazine in Europe

SEOUL, KOREA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 20, 2007 -- Seoul Semiconductor (KOSDAQ: 046890), the country's leading LED producer, announced today that Acriche has been named "Product of the Year" for 2006 by Elektronik, one of the most prestigious electronics magazines in Germany. Seoul Semiconductor holds all technology and patents related to Acriche, the world's first semiconductor lighting source for AC power outlets, which the company began mass producing last November.

Introduced ten years ago, Elektronik's widely regarded annual Best Product Award polls readers to select the most innovative product based on the criteria of advancement of technology, innovation, impressive power-to-size ratio, and ability to stand out from the range of products in its category. The Elektronik editorial team pre-selects 111 products in 10 categories for the vote. In the magazine's most recent poll, Acriche received 5,500 votes from readers in the category of Opto-electronics.
