ACT Aurora Control Technologies Corp. receives US Patent for its Dopant Measurement System

NORTH VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Sept. 4, 2014) - ACT Aurora Control Technologies Corp. (TSX VENTURE:ACU) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received formal issuance notification from the United States Patent Office granting patent number 8829442 for its application "Non-contact Measurement of the Dopant Content of Semiconductor Layers". The patent will be published on September 9, 2014 and is applicable to the commercial use of the Company's Decima™ measurement systems. The Decima technology disclosed in the patent is designed to continuously measure the output of one of the most important steps in cell fabrication - the emitter diffusion process. This step creates the atomic layer in a cell that allows light to be converted into electrical charge, and it also plays a crucial role in the outcome of the fabrication of the cell's metal contacts.

In addition to the abovementioned patent, the Company has pending patents encompassing the Decima technology and its applications in China, Taiwan, Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and India.

"With the grant of this patent, and with additional international patents pending, Aurora's intellectual property position is strong," said Michael Heaven, Executive Chairman and one of the inventors on this patent. "As awareness and acceptance of our ground-breaking non- contacting measurement of the emitter dopant content develops in the solar manufacturing industry, it is important that our position is well protected."
