Actiance Announces Further Key Appointments During Company Expansion, Adds to European and Sales Leadership Teams


BELMONT, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 12, 2011) - Actiance, enablers of the safe and compliant use of unified communications (UC), collaboration and social media, announced today three key appointments alongside the creation of nearly 45 new positions globally over recent months. Chip Davis has been appointed as vice president, North America Enterprise sales, David Oates as vice president for EMEA and Eric Young has been promoted internally to vice president of Global Field Services.

An industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Davis will be instrumental in leading the development of the company's field sales organization. Prior to joining Actiance, Davis was the VP of Americas Sales at BigFix where, under his direction, business grew more than 200%, leading to a successful acquisition by IBM. A graduate of Ohio State University, he began his sales career with Boole & Babbage, a pioneering company in enterprise management systems. More recently, Davis held executive roles with CyberSafe, BMC Software and Symantec, where he was responsible for US Enterprise Sales and was named overall Sales Leader of the Year in 2005.

Based out of Actiance's UK office, Oates joins the company with more than 25 years of sales and senior management experience from Alpha Corporation to spearhead the company's growth in the EMEA region. Previously he was vice president of EMEA for Tower Software, where he restructured and re-energized the EMEA operation and saw the organization through the successful acquisition by Hewlett-Packard. Prior to this, Oates held a number of other senior positions, most notably CEO of The Distillery, a small Australian-based intelligence software company and also as VP International Operations for Primavera Systems, where he was responsible for all operations outside the Americas, more than doubling international revenues.

Young has been promoted to vice president Field Services and will be responsible for the company's worldwide sales engineering and professional services groups that provide pre- and post-sales technical consulting and support to Actiance's award-winning products. He leverages more than 18 years' experience in assisting enterprises with the architecture, implementation and management of security and communication infrastructures in this position.
