Acting Legend Dan Aykroyd Partners With American Landscape Artist John Alexander to Launch Crystal Head Vodka

- Crystal Head Vodka commemorates the legend of the 13 Crystal Heads - Crystal Head Vodka contains no additives and is filtered over Herkimer crystals for added purity

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 8, 2008) - Acting legend Dan Aykroyd has joined creative forces with American landscape artist and sculptor John Alexander to launch Crystal Head Vodka. In a tribute to the 13 Crystal Skulls found in various locations around the world Crystal Head Vodka is the purest spirit possible.

"Unlike most vodkas in today's marketplace that use additives, glycol, citrus and sugar to improve smoothness and flavor, Crystal Head Vodka is a pure spirit with no additives. It is quadrupled distilled and filtered three times through charcoal followed by triple filtration over Herkimer crystals from one of the planets rarest deposits of close concentrated semi-precious stones" said Aykroyd. The vodka is distilled by the Newfoundland Liquor Corporation and uses water sourced from the Province's deep aquifer glacial pools located over a thousand miles away from major sources of continental pollution.

Aykroyd is working with a leading US importer, The Infinium Spirits division of Wilson Daniels to market Crystal Head Vodka in the US. Crystal Head Vodka, which will be available initially in California, Texas, Nevada, Louisiana and Florida will retail for $49.95 per 750 ml bottle.

In Canada, Crystal Head Vodka is available in Newfoundland will be available in Alberta and New Brunswick in coming weeks.

According to Dan Aykroyd, "Purity is what separates exceptional vodka from merely good vodka. Crystal Head Vodka is truly in its own class in terms of purity and taste. Initial tasting reaction to the beverage has been extremely positive as people are enjoying exactly what we set out to achieve, a creamy under flavor without overcharged slipperiness," says Aykroyd.

To contain Crystal Head Vodka, Dan commissioned his friend, internationally known American landscape painter and portrait artist John Alexander to design and create an anatomically correct rendering of a human skull. Alexander's design is manufactured by master artisans in Milano's Bruni Glass Company.

"I have painted skulls for years in my work. I've been to the Mexican Day of The Dead festivals many times and have always been intrigued by the 13 Crystal Skulls. These artifacts discovered all over the planet, so the legend goes, were each carved from a single quartz crystal. There are seven in man's possession and several bear no discernible tools marks. Technicians at Hewlett Packard concluded most should not exist as they were cut totally against the grain of the original crystal. The Aztec, Mayan and Navajo cultures record evidence that there are enlightening and healing powers associated with these skulls. We thought it would be worthwhile and fun to develop a pure spirit to commemorate the legend and its positive meaning", said Alexander.

Aykroyd's interests in spirits and brand promotion originated with his co-founding of House of Blues Entertainment Inc. now a division of the world's largest concert company, Live Nation Inc. Aykroyd also acts with J.P. Dejoria as the importer to Canada for the Patron Spirits Company line of products (www.patronspirits.com). He is also the licensor to Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits Ltd., in Niagara, Ontario, Canada for the Aykroyd Cabernet Merlot, Chardonnay, and the award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz and Vidal Ice Wine beverages.

John Alexander, designer of the Head, continues to exhibit internationally and produce master works from his studio in Long Island.
