Actions AST Receives Financial Support from Government of Canada

SAINT-HYACINTHE, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - July 18, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the firm Actions AST Inc. has been granted financial assistance for the acquisition of a digitally-controlled machining centre to improve its productivity.

"The Government of Canada is staying true to its commitment to focus on the economy. This is clearly illustrated in its constant support of projects aimed at improving the productivity and competitiveness of enterprises such as Actions AST," said Minister Lebel.

Founded in 2010, Actions AST specializes in the manufacture and installation of tarp retraction systems for semi dump trailers. With a clientele composed primarily of gravel and material transporters, farmers and snow removal companies, the enterprise sells the majority of its products in Quebec as well as in the Maritimes and north-eastern United States.

Actions AST will use the financial support from Canada Economic Development to manufacture certain of the tarp retraction system components on site in order to reduce the need for subcontracting while optimizing customer satisfaction in terms of delivery deadlines, product quality and operating efficiency.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $35,000 repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
