activePDF Announces the Release of activePDF DocConverter Enterprise 2010

MISSION VIEJO, CA--(Marketwire - September 20, 2010) - activePDF, Inc., a leading provider of server-based PDF creation, conversion and development tools for Microsoft Windows®, today announced the immediate availability of activePDF DocConverter™ Enterprise 2010, the latest iteration of its highly scalable document conversion engine.

In addition to converting over 300 file formats directly to PDF, this release introduces the ability to convert existing PDF files to popular formats such as Microsoft Word®, PowerPoint®, and Excel®, along with several image formats, providing users with high-fidelity output that can be easily edited or otherwise repurposed using common document authoring applications. In addition, DocConverter Enterprise 2010 introduces the ability to both convert to PDF/A as well as validate PDF/A files, providing support for the archival standard that is rapidly gaining momentum among those businesses looking to ensure their content is accessible for years to come.

"With this release, we are addressing a key market need in providing our clients the ability to convert files both to and from PDF in a high volume, highly scalable way," remarked activePDF CEO, Tim Sullivan. "This offering provides companies the ability to convert their business documents to any one of a number of different formats, supporting myriad business needs. Whether an organization is looking to simply centralize PDF conversion capabilities, standardize on PDF/A in support of document archiving initiatives, or quickly and easily extend PDF repurposing capabilities to their entire user base, DocConverter Enterprise provides the flexibility and quality they've come to expect from activePDF."

Designed to enable a variety of document processing scenarios, DocConverter Enterprise 2010 can be deployed to an entire network via watched folders, as well as programmatically via a robust API.
