Bear Creek Fence (www.bearcreekfence.com), based in Lehi, Utah, has a special place in their hearts for victims of cancer. Most of us know or will know someone who has been affected by cancer, and after a fellow co-worker at Bear Creek was diagnosed with colon cancer they decided to create the initiative "Beat Cancer with Bear Creek." As a company, they have participated in the Susan B. Komen walk and featured their logo for "Beat Cancer with Bear Creek" on their ActiveYards home show booth. This logo incorporates the colors of three different cancers -- Breast Cancer (pink), Leukemia (Orange) and Colon Cancer (Blue). With the help of ActiveYards® they have given away countless stickers and t-shirts with this logo on them to drive awareness and encourage others to get involved in a fight for the cure.

Nichols Fence Company (www.nicholsfence.com) based in Cleveland Ohio, was recently featured on an episode of HGTV's Nicole Curtis the Rehab Addict where they assisted The LeBron James Family Foundation and the Promise Project. Nichols Fence Company and about 30 other retailers helped renovate the home of a very deserving family in the Akron, Ohio area. The families for the home renovation and the nine additional yards were chosen because the students met certain criteria in areas LeBron encourages them in throughout the school year. A sixth grader, Mariah Riley, won the chance for her family to receive this home makeover by working hard in school and achieving all of her goals. Nichols Fence and ActiveYards contributed two ActiveYards® fences to the project, an ActiveYards® 6 foot white Dogwood Fence as well as an ActiveYards® 4 foot Silverbell Fence.

Harrison Fence (www.harrisonfence.com), based in Apex North Carolina, and ActiveYards also donated an ActiveYards® aluminum fence to a very deserving family. Marine Corporal Nathan Jakubisin was honored at a ceremony that took place on September 11th 2014. He was given a house that was built and furnished for him, his wife and young child. Corporal Nathan Jakubisin suffered several severe injuries while serving our country in Afghanistan, and is the eighth hero home to be given keys to a new home through Operation: Coming Home.
