ActivIdentity Enters Strategic Partnership and Original Equipment Manufacturer Agreement With Realsec

Combined Offering Strengthens 4TRESS Authentication Appliance While Expanding Global Reach of Both Companies

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 13, 2011) - ActivIdentity Corporation, a global leader in secure identity solutions that has been recently acquired by HID Global, today announced an original equipment manufacturer agreement has been reached as part of the company's strategic partnership with Realsec, the leading secure vendor of cryptographic solutions worldwide. Under the agreement, Realsec technology will be integrated and sold as part of ActivIdentity's 4TRESS Authentication Appliance and will launch U.S. operations in San Francisco to work more closely with ActivIdentity.

ActivIdentity's 4TRESS Authentication Appliance incorporates Realsec's powerful HSM (Hardware Security Module) to securely store cryptographic materials, facilitate management of digital keys and accelerate cryptographic operations. Realsecs's technology is FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified and Common Criteria EAL4 + Certified, offering customers of 4TRESS Authentication Appliance the highest assurance levels available as defined by international standards. In addition to its HSM technology, Realsec is also developing other software integrations to further enhance ActivIdentity solutions as part of the companies' expanded partnership.

"ActivIdentity's 4TRESS Authentication Appliance already offers the most robust and reliable authentication systems available today," said Jerome Becquart, vice president and general manager of ActivIdentity. "By fully integrating Realsec's technology into ActivIdentity's existing banking solutions, we will continue to meet the exacting demands of our customers today while addressing the evolving international compliance standards of tomorrow."

The combined technologies of ActivIdentity and Realsec will help banking customers meet with new regulations and compliance standards such as PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and EMV (Europay, MasterCard and VISA), which is becoming a predominant standard worldwide.

"By integrating Realsec technology into ActivIdentity solutions, both companies strengthen their respective global security market positions," said Sebastian Muñoz, CEO of Realsec, Inc. "Realsec will help ActivIdentity penetrate markets in Spain and Latin America, where we already have a strong customer base in banking, enterprise and government sectors. In turn, ActivIdentity is giving us the opportunity to establish our presence in the United States with our new subsidiary in San Francisco."
